Suffolk County, NY — The Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce (LIAACC) is encouraging eligible Suffolk County small businesses to apply for the JumpSmart Small Business Grant, a competitive funding opportunity designed to strengthen local enterprises, accelerate post-pandemic recovery, and advance Suffolk County’s broader downtown revitalization efforts.
The JumpSmart Grant is made possible through public investment funding allocated to Suffolk County and administered locally through a strategic partnership between LIAACC and Trellus, a mission-driven company with a proven track record of deploying capital, technical assistance, and financial education to small businesses across Long Island.

The LIAACC Delivery Grant aligns with the purpose of the JumpSMART Small Business Downtown Investment Program, made possible through funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
Initially launched by Suffolk County in September 2023, JumpSMART aims to support the growth of small businesses and the strength and vibrancy of Main Streets through strategic investments.
The LIAACC submitted a grant proposal outlining a delivery program to help small business owners reach more local customers, identifying Trellus as a solution provider that could enhance their members’ ability to compete and bolster revenue.
“This is about more than grants it’s about rebuilding and reenergizing our downtown corridors,” said a spokesperson for LIAACC. “The JumpSmart Grant provides Suffolk County entrepreneurs with real capital at a critical time, while also connecting them to long-term business support that helps ensure sustainability and growth.”

Investing in Local Businesses, Strengthening Downtowns
The JumpSmart Grant program is aligned with Suffolk County Downtown Revitalization Initiative, which focuses on supporting small businesses as anchors of vibrant, walkable, and economically resilient downtown communities. By prioritizing local entrepreneurs, the program helps stabilize commercial districts, retain jobs, and promote inclusive economic development throughout Suffolk County.

A Strategic Partnership for Impact
Under the partnership, LIAACC leads outreach, advocacy, and business engagement—particularly among minority-owned, women-owned, and underserved small businesses—while Trellus provides program administration expertise and ensures responsible deployment of funds in accordance with county objectives.
Together, the organizations aim to remove barriers to capital and ensure that Suffolk County’s small business ecosystem reflects the diversity, innovation, and resilience of its communities.
