Now entering its ninth year, the International Women’s Conference remains a powerful platform dedicated to elevating women’s voices and impact. Men play an important role in reinforcing that mission by supporting women’s leadership, advocating for inclusive decision-making, and helping create environments where women can thrive.

“Supporting women’s leadership strengthens families, workplaces, and communities,” said conference organizers. “When men actively support women, progress becomes more sustainable and lasting.”

Why Men’s Support Is Essential

Men continue to hold significant influence across business, government, education, and civic institutions. Their support helps ensure that efforts to advance women are reinforced through policy, practice, and culture.

By supporting the International Women’s Conference, men help:

  • Encourage leadership pathways for women through mentorship and sponsorship
  • Strengthen organizational performance through inclusive leadership
  • Demonstrate shared responsibility for equity and opportunity
  • Contribute to legacies that value fairness, respect, and collaboration

The 2026 conference theme, HER VOICE, HER CULTURE, HER LEGACY, HER POWER, highlights the importance of collective responsibility. When men listen, learn, and support women’s leadership, communities benefit.

Leadership Shaped by Example and Legacy

For Phil Andrews, Founding President of the African American Small Business Foundation, Inc. and 100 Black Men of Eastern New York, Inc. supporting women’s leadership is deeply personal and shaped by the example of his aunt, Rev. Frances Virginia Young, a respected faith leader recognized for her decades of service to the community.

Rev. Young’s life and leadership demonstrated how women shape leaders, families, institutions, and neighborhoods through service, integrity, and vision.

“My commitment to supporting women’s leadership was shaped early on by my aunt, Rev. Frances Virginia Young,” said Andrews.
“She taught me that leadership without equity is incomplete, and that communities thrive when women are supported and respected.  Supporting the International Women’s Conference is about honoring that lesson and standing with women in meaningful ways.”

A Space for Learning, Listening, and Support

The International Women’s Conference offers men an opportunity to learn from women leaders through keynote sessions, panel discussions, and networking that deepen understanding and encourage thoughtful engagement.

Men who attend gain insight into:

  • How women’s leadership strengthens organizations
  • The value of mentorship, sponsorship, and advocacy
  • Practical ways to support women in professional and community settings
  • The broader societal benefits of inclusive leadership

An Invitation to Stand With Women

The International Women’s Conference welcomes men who believe that advancing women’s leadership is a shared responsibility and a cornerstone of strong communities and institutions.

“Progress is strongest when women lead and men support that leadership,” organizers added. “Standing with women today helps build a more equitable and prosperous future for everyone.”
