Chamber positions itself as the regions leading platform for business growth, advocacy, and opportunity

Long Island, NY — As minority-owned businesses across Long Island navigate a rapidly changing economy, the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce (LIAACC) is issuing a renewed call for entrepreneurs, professionals, and corporate partners to join a proven business ecosystem designed to help companies grow, scale, and compete.
Founded to advance economic equity and business development, the Chamber has spent more than a decade connecting entrepreneurs to capital, contracts, technical assistance, and influential networks across both the public and private sectors. Today, LIAACC is expanding its membership base to meet rising demand from business owners seeking real results—not just networking.
“Membership in the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce is not symbolic—it’s strategic,” said Phil Andrews, Founder and President of LIAACC. “Our members gain access to decision-makers, procurement opportunities, capital pathways, and advocacy that directly impact their bottom line.”
More Than a Chamber—A Business Growth Platform

LIAACC members benefit from a robust suite of resources designed to move businesses forward, including:
- Access to Capital & Financing Pathways through banking partners, lenders, and financial institutions
- Government & Corporate Procurement Opportunities at the local, state, and national levels
- Business Education & Technical Assistance workshops, panels, and one-on-one support
- High-Impact Networking & Signature Events connecting members to executives, policymakers, and peers
- Advocacy & Representation on issues affecting minority-owned businesses and entrepreneurs
In recent years, the Chamber has helped members secure contracts, strengthen financial readiness, expand workforce capacity, and increase visibility across key industries.
The African American Small Business Foundation, Inc. (AASBF) was formed to support the programs and activities of the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. and other non-for-profits and to empower the community economically.
Supporters of AASBF include individuals, corporations, and philanthropic partners who see their donations as investments in economic resilience rather than simple charity. Contributions help close equity gaps by providing capital where it may otherwise be unavailable through traditional channels. According to AASBF’s reporting, each dollar raised contributes directly to job creation or retention in Downstate New York communities.
Funding also helps establish small businesses as stable anchors within neighborhoods while increasing tax revenue bases. In addition to immediate impact on jobs and business growth, donor support can help create generational wealth opportunities for African American families.
The foundation encourages further support from donors and community leaders interested in investing in minority entrepreneurship. More information about contributing can be found at https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/annual-fundraising-campaign-to-empower-the-african-american-community.

A Trusted Voice in Economic Development
LIAACC has emerged as a respected voice in regional economic development, working collaboratively with public agencies, corporate partners, and nonprofit institutions to ensure minority-owned businesses are included in growth opportunities shaping Long Island’s future.
“When businesses join the Chamber, they are joining a collective voice that opens doors,” Andrews added. “We don’t just talk about opportunity—we help our members access it.”
