2025 A Banner Year for the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce

New York, New York – In 2025 the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (LIAACC) has achieved a banner year marking its 15th, Year anniversary celebration.  Beyond being a finalist for the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. (USBC) Chamber of the Year award in 2025, the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce (LIAACC) has received other significant national recognitions. 

Recognition for the chamber and its leadership

Established National Small Business Week – The event will be held on long Island annually in New York

SBA Community Navigator Pilot Program: In 2022, LIAACC was selected to participate in the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Community Navigator Pilot Program. The program was created to help underserved businesses navigate and access federal relief funds following the pandemic. LIAACC was a “spoke,” funded through a $5 million USBC grant, that provided counseling and technical assistance to small businesses.

  • USBC Spoke of the Month: As part of the SBA Community Navigator program, LIAACC was recognized by the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc., as its “Spoke of the Month” for August 2022.
  • SBA Small Business Champion: The President of LIAACC, Phil Andrews, was named the 2019 “Small Business Champion” for the New York District office of the SBA, which includes 14 counties in Downstate New York.
  • Media Features: LIAACC has been featured in national media outlets, including NBC’s “Positively Black” and Black Enterprise magazine.

LIAACC/Trellus Same-Day Local Delivery & Marketplace to distribute $125,000 in JumpSMART grant funding to businesses in Suffolk County.

The Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce (LIAACC) partners with Trellus Same-Day Local Delivery & Marketplace to distribute $125,000 in JumpSMART grant funding to small businesses in Suffolk County.
