Celebrate Black History Month reviewing the history of the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc.

New York, New York – Celebrate Black History Month reviewing the history of the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. The Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. was founded on October 10, 2010 and is New York State’s largest African American Chamber of Commerce. The chamber of commerce is a regional chamber of commerce and serves the four counties of Suffolk, Nassau, Queens, and Kings.


The chamber is known for presenting a variety of signature events over the years such as an Annual Black History Month Art Exhibition, Annual African American Small Business Expo, Ladies of LIAACC Women Who Shine Event, One Night Only Gala Benefit, and a Two-day Small Business Bootcamp which was held in conjunction with SUNY Old Westbury School of Business Management.

The chamber of commerce is a membership-based organization and is compromised four hundred members. In 2019 the Long Island African Chamber of Commerce, Inc.’s leader was named as the small business champion for the New York District Office of the United States Small Business Champion which comprises of 14 counties in Downstate, New York.


The chamber has served on select committees on Long Island such as the Complete 2020 Census Committee in Nassau and Suffolk Counties, the Leadership Council of Big Brothers & Sisters of Long Island, Former Nassau County Executive Laura Curran Economic Advisory Council, Health Equity Committee of Nassau & Suffolk Counties, and the Nassau County Comptroller’s MWBE Advisory Committee. The chamber’s President was inducted into the Long Island Business News 2021 Class of Hall of Fame in November of 2019.


The Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. is a leading supporter of small business owners in the area of advocacy, access to capital, technical assistance, education, and small business capacity building.

The chamber’s leadership currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Long Island Association and the Interfaith Nutrition Network.
